Dubai launches Golden Visa category for Waqf donors promoting charitable work
Endowers to be nominated by Awqaf Dubai under new framework
DUBAI – The United Arab Emirates (UAE) has introduced a new Golden Visa category for Waqf (Islamic endowment) donors, recognising their role in supporting humanitarian and charitable initiatives.
According to a statement on Friday, the General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs – Dubai (GDRFA-Dubai) announced the update following a cooperation agreement with the Endowments and Minors Affairs Foundation (Awqaf Dubai).
Who qualifies?
Under the new framework, Awqaf Dubai will nominate both resident and non-resident endowers who meet the eligibility criteria set out in Cabinet Resolution No. (65) of 2022 for “financial supporters of humanitarian work.”
How it works
GDRFA-Dubai will issue Golden Visas based on these approved nominations, providing long-term residency to qualified donors.

A joint committee will monitor the initiative’s progress and evaluate its social impact. “This partnership reflects our commitment to reinforcing Dubai’s position as a global centre for tolerance and humanitarian giving,” GDRFA said in a statement.
